Botanical Garden Story Slam

Are you a storyteller? Do you have a story you would like to share? Ten people will have a chance to tell their story at the Botanical Garden Story Slam on the Ojos y Manos: Eyes and Hands amphitheater stage.

Send in your Interest Form to be considered for a spot in our first ever Botanical Garden Story Slam, Saturday October 8th at 1pm. Prizes awarded for the best story!

What’s a Story Slam? A story slam is a very short and true story about the storyteller. Slams are typically 5 minutes long or rather short. Shorter stories mean quickly connecting the audience to your story through feeling, creativity and meaning. Still not sure, check out The Moth website or podcast for inspiration.

See rules below:

  • Story Slam theme: Roots
  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Story must be true and about you
  • Story must be based on theme
  • Story must be 5-7 minutes in length
  • Story must be family friendly

We will be accepting 10 storytellers. If accepted, you will be contacted to go over your story to determine if story is appropriate for the event. Finalists will be notified via email whether they were chosen.

Send in the completed interest form by September 30th, 2022 to christie@santafebotanicalgarden.org
