The Introduction to Somatic Experiencing is a live, 1.5 hour workshop, for individuals interested in learning the basic principles and theory of the Somatic Experiencing, a body-centered trauma healing model and to learn more about the 8-module Somatic Experiencing Professional Training Program. The workshop is free, there is no fee to attend.

Jeanna Gomez is the owner of Gomez Counseling and Consulting Services (GCCS), and Trauma Healing and Recovery Center in Houston, Texas. She comes with 22+ years in clinical and trauma recovery experience. Jeanna is a Complex Trauma Specialist and Relational therapist who utilizes Somatic Experiencing, including SE Touch work, Integral Somatic Psychology, Brain Spotting, EMDR, Experiential Boundary and Movement work and Pia Mellody’s Post Induction Therapy Model (PIT) in her work with clients. GCCS offers private counseling to individuals, couples, and groups.

International Faculty This workshop will focus on sharing information on the use of Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing® in the healing of traumatic stress. As therapists and healers, we become engaged in helping our clients lessen their pain that we often forget the importance of working on our own well-being. This workshop will introduce attendees to this powerful therapeutic method that is designed to heal traumatic stress not only in clients but also in our lives as the healer. Come join us for this educational and experiential workshop.
Workshop Objectives include the following:
• Provide a basic overview of the physiological-focused approach of Somatic Experiencing®.
• Explain how SE helps restore the natural self-correcting, self-regulating mechanisms of the human nervous system.
• Experiment with SE tools that are important in this model.
