Nether Lands - Exhibit Opening Reception for Jodi Drinkwater

Join Jodi Drinkwater for the opening of her show "Nether Lands." She will discuss her creative process and share some of her poetry. Light refreshments will be served.

Bio:  Jodi Drinkwater is a multi-talented creative who moved to Santa Fe from Wichita Kansas.  She received her MFA in Poetry; she is a playwright; she has studied film; and she has a passion for art.

Artist Statement:  Jodi's work is drawn from her rich inner world, which she calls The Ethers or The Nether Lands.  This region is populated with mythological beasts and otherworldly creatures.  Sometimes, the paintings represent an uncanny landscape then a practical sense of justice.

The pieces—mostly acrylic and mixed media—are drip paintings; or they’re completed with palette knife, or other raw materials, and brushes.  These works usually incorporate found items.
