Dr. Carril will introduce participants to New Mexico’s native solitary bees, and explore the relationships of these bees with the flowering plants on which they depend, and which depend on them.
Participants should meet at 10am for an easy walk and talk along the Santa Fe River Trail. We will look for bees, the plants they visit, and the places they nest. We will catch (and hold!) native bees!
The Santa Fe Public Library will join us: A craft table will be set up for children of all ages and they will provide other free goodies.
We will begin our walk at the Camino Escondido Bee Hotel, on the south side of the river, adjacent to the dirt road (Alameda) by the corner of Camino Escondido.
