A Wildfire Preparedness Workshop
Date & Time: Saturday, May 3rd, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Doors open at 10:00 AM; educational sessions will run until approximately 2:00 PM with family activities and additional resources available until 3:00 PM)

Our Mission: Building a Fire-Adapted Community
Wildfires threaten homes, displace families, and endanger both residents and those fighting on the front lines. They also impact water quality and cost our community millions. Through education and proactive measures, we can break this cycle and foster a resilient community where fire plays its natural role without risking lives or property.

What to Expect at the Workshop - Key topics include:
Preparing Your Home for the 2025 Fire Season (rotating sessions 10:30 AM - 12 PM)
· Conduct your own home assessment or schedule a free professional evaluation complete with a mitigation work plan.
· Discover actionable steps to reduce the risk of your home igniting.
· Learn how to develop a fire-resilient strategy tailored to your neighborhood.
· Understand the challenges faced by homeowners in today’s evolving insurance landscape.
Emergency Preparation (rotating sessions 10:30 AM - 12 PM)
· Receive real-time alerts on wildfires and other emergencies in Santa Fe.
· Learn how to build an effective ‘Go Kit’ filled with essential supplies and vital family information.
· Create a robust emergency plan that ensures your family’s safety during a crisis.
Wildfire Modeling & Science (rotating sessions 10:30 AM - 12 PM)
· See how Simtable’s wildfire and smoke simulations illustrate fire spread and the impact of strategic planning in your community.
· Understand the science behind creating communities that safely coexist with fire.
Homeowners’ Insurance Panel (12 - 1:15 PM)
· Engage in a discussion focused on the influence of wildfire threats on insurance policies.
· Gain insights into the evolving landscape of homeowners’ insurance in the face of increased fire risk.
