For December, we will be discussing graphic novels.  Read one (or more!) in advance to share with the group or just come to find out what others recommend.

Have no idea what to read?  Here are a few titles to get you started:

Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, a memoir by Alison Bechdel, is a classic.  If you prefer comic strips to graphic novels, check out her compendium The Essential Dykes to Watch Out For.

Stuck Rubber Baby by Howard Cruse is another older and groundbreaking title. This tale of a gay white man in the Civil Rights Era South has been likened to Maus by Art Spiegelman.

Bingo Love by Tee Franklin is a heartwarming tale of lifelong lesbian love.

The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen follows the fairytale-laden quest of a Vietnamese mother trying to understand and connect to her gay American son.

In Hazards of Love Vol. 1: Bright World by Stan Stanley, a queer, nonbinary youth must escape from a Mexican-inspired underworld.

Are You Listening? by Tillie Walden is a highly acclaimed YA title that explores grief, trauma, and friendship across ages.
