Program Description

Event Details

New Mexico is known as the Land of Enchantment. An equally apt description would be State of a Thousand & More Stories. Storytelling, cuentos (short stories), legends, myths, and lore have been a magical and unique part of the people of this region for centuries. In Part I of the Storytelling series, participants will get a chance to continue the long tradition of creating, retelling, writing, and sharing stories, including fictional and personal. Activities and discussion scheduled for the first session include: a brief look back at the history of New Mexico folklore; two in-class writing assignments; small group writing conferences; and an overview of the art of storytelling. Participants will also have the choice to continue their own writing tracks in poetry and short story writing. Ages 16 to Adult.

Registration Required. 25 participants max.
