Comic Book Workshop with Santa Fe Artist Sophia Van Luchene

Participants will create two of their own characters then write a story about them and finally convert to graphic novel form. Participants can share their work to the group and take the final product home.

 

About the Presenting Artist

Sophia Van Luchene was born and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a sophomore (as of 2022) and attends the New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA) where she specializes in visual arts and creative writing. Other public work include the NMSA “Mural Project 2021” and she sold her first sculpture to a Santa Fe gallery when she was ten years old. Van Luchene’s work features vibrant colors and playful forms, drawing inspiration from how the light, shadow and color might interact.
